Berlin family! We’re back with one more soulful (midweek) boogie before we head into a holiday break. This time round we’re excited and honoured to be joining forces with the UK rising star Joy Crookes to host the aftershow party for her concert in Berlin on December 4th.
Joy is a dear friend and a wonderful artist in her own right. The Bangladeshi-Irish singer and producer smoothly melds a beautiful balance of Motown-esque soul in with the music she grew up with in London, a fusion of RnB, Folk, Hip-Hop & Dub: all the while, it is the unique and unmistakable tone of her voice that stands out front and centre. She’s currently on tour for her new album ‘Juniper’ which dropped this autumn. We’ll have her spin a rare DJ set for our function – something not to be missed.
Joining her is Femdelic – local hero and badass selector who’s been rocking parties in her native Berlin for the past 20 years. She’s been called one of Germany’s "female ambassadors of funk" for good reason – her vibrant style, technical finesse and seasoned taste has kept her gigging schedule busy and we’re happy to finally be able to host her.
Alongside Femdelic our own Ken Okuda & Orlando Rosé will be steering the ship in the usual – ecletic and joyful – fashion. We’re setting shop at Bar Neun in the heart of Kreuzberg or the first time and can’t wait to have you all join us there. The venue has been a community favourite as of late and we’re excited to be hosting a night ourselves.
It’s been an eventful couple of months for us and we’re truly grateful for all the energy and presence we’ve been receiving and sharing. Come celebrate with us in SHUSH fashion to ring out the year.

Following our first outing in London at Corsica Studios, we’re back in town for something special this December – hosting our second dance in the city, at The Bath House in Hackney.
Providing sonics will be none other than K15, someone we’ve been so excited to bring to SHUSH for a long time. Joining him is REO, an exciting passionate selector with a soulful sound at heart, and Sticky Dub, with a rare live-PA set, fusing his unique rhythms and lyrical expression. SHUSH co-founders Ken Okuda & D’Monk will round things out with a back-to-back session.
It’s going to be a special evening from 5pm ’til midnight, powered by Our Soul Soundsystem to make sure things are sounding tight.
We’re looking forward to seeing some familiar faces there.

Berlin-based dance night and sound system SHUSH present their first musical offering: six soulful tracks that encapsulate the unique spirit of their functions and underlying community. Atlanta house ambassador Stefan Ringer lends his touch on deep vocal cut ‘Focus’, electronic jazz maestro Ziggy Zeitgeist serves up the late-night coaster ‘Yours To Make’ (feat. Jitwam), whilst SHUSH’s own D’Monk deals the dubbed-out damage of ‘Love Or Lust’, a raw house cut heavy on the 909s. Alongside them, producer Whodat offers a slapper in her own distinctive Detroit-style, AMA//MIZU comes with an introspective downbeat roller whilst Dweller presents one of his stunning orchestral works.
Spread across two sides of a 12”, these bold selections translate their feeling both on and off the dancefloor.
