Join us on 5 April we’ll be taking our sound system back out to host you at our beloved stomping grounds, Studio dB. This time round we’re honoured to feature multi-faceted artist & extensive selector Baba T behind the decks, as well as join forces with two figures of the Berlin House Dance community for a special workshop & session.

As the key figure behind London-based radio show and dance night Don’t Touch My Fro!, Babajide Tikare aka ‘Baba T’ has fostered a platform that celebrates Black diasporic music in all its forms. The carefully curated line-ups (featuring many of our favourite artists) he’s been co-crafting and the attention to detail speak for themselves – we feel that this will be a truly inspirational link up.

Joining him are SHUSH residents Ken Okuda and Orlando Rosé, stretching out in a soulful way as usual, bringing with them a healthy stash of new discoveries. Lastly, we’re excited to have Berlins House Dance community on board for this function. Dancer & educator Alessia d’Isanto will be offering an introductory class, with dancer & DJ Achraf Lansari providing the steppers’ soundtrack early on.

As we’re trying to keep entry as accessible as possible, we’re offering two tickets: A discounted one (10€) , as well as a ‘supporter‘ ticket at a slight extra cost (15€) to help us throw these functions sustainably. Extra income will go to the artists directly – we appreciate your support if you can afford it.

    SHUSH Vol. 1

    Various Artists

Berlin-based dance night and sound system SHUSH present their first musical offering: six soulful tracks that encapsulate the unique spirit of their functions and underlying community. Atlanta house ambassador Stefan Ringer lends his touch on deep vocal cut ‘Focus’, electronic jazz maestro Ziggy Zeitgeist serves up the late-night coaster ‘Yours To Make’ (feat. Jitwam), whilst SHUSH’s own D’Monk deals the dubbed-out damage of ‘Love Or Lust’, a raw house cut heavy on the 909s. Alongside them, producer Whodat offers a slapper in her own distinctive Detroit-style, AMA//MIZU comes with an introspective downbeat roller whilst Dweller presents one of his stunning orchestral works.

Spread across two sides of a 12”, these bold selections translate their feeling both on and off the dancefloor.

    A1 Stefan Ringer - Focus
    A2 D’Monk - Love Or Lust
    A3 Dweller - Dweller’s Interlude
B1 Ziggy Zeitgeist - Yours To Make (feat. Jitwam)
    B2 Whodat - Joyous Element
    B3 Ama//Mizu - Unwinding Real
